AGT Season 14 Premiere

 In Entertainment, Now Mornings

America’s Got Talent returned last night (May 28) with two new judges (Gabrielle Union, Julianne Hough) and new host, Terry Crews. There were so many noteworthy auditions in the emotional season premiere, however, the performance that captivated the audience, judges and earned the first “Golden Buzzer” came from Kodi Lee.

As his mother explained to the judges, Kodi was born blind and autistic. “We found out that he loved music really early on,” she stated. “He listened and his eyes just went huge and he started singing. That’s when I realized, oh my gosh, he’s an entertainer.”

Before Kodi’s performance, his mom gave the judges a little more context for Kodi’s love of music. “Through music and performing he was able to withstand living in this world, because when you’re autistic it’s really hard to do what everybody else does. It actually has saved his life, playing music,” she said.

V.Unbeatable Dance Crew

This AMAZING dance crew from Mumbai, India, consists of 28 dancers between the ages of 12 and 27, and their performance — coupled with their emotional backstory about the challenges of growing up in the lowest-income areas of Mumbai — make them strong contenders for the AGT finals before they even show off their moves.

The charming piano player Patricio from Italy seems super nervous, and they built him up to seem super boring and old-fashioned.

Immediately after cutting to an audience member literally yawning, it turns out he’s less of a piano player and more of a full-body contortionist and interpretive dancer.
